Work and Play

Published by kaya singer under Success

I have been working 12 hour days. It is a labor of love and I feel  so fulfilled from my work.  The creativity and contact with so many interesting people keep me going. I love what I do! I had a wonderful astrology reading over the weekend with one of my oldest and dearest friends, Isha Lerner. She just glanced at my transits over lunch but what she said is that now that I have completed my second Saturn return it is clear sailing and I am on a career cycle. Very cool!  Isha has a special this month for mothers. Half price. An amazing opportunity and  Isha is not only one of the best in her field but she is a very successful entrepreneur. Have a peek at her website.  It is beautiful and filled with wonderful gifts to feed the soul.

Spring Cleaning Your Office for Success

Published by kaya singer under Success

My office usually looks like it was hit by a tornado. I hate it actually. I have read countless books on Feng Shui and so I know that clutter is bad, really bad and it can cause all kinds of unspeakable energy blocks in your business. Truthfully, I love a clean and neat office. It feels so good to walk in and sit down at a tidy desk, everything in its place. I admit that it does make me feel…peaceful and empowered.

Ok- so here is my secret. I am a closet clutterer and I need to be in a 12 step program. I have analyzed myself and figured out that the problem is that my mental energy is going fast all the time. I don’t want to stop to file things away or to even think about where to file it. So I just lay it down “somewhere,” thinking I’ll get to it later. By the end of the week the “get to it later” stuff is everywhere.

So I have developed a 5 step program that works for me somewhat. I would love to hear how it is for you.

1. Be paperless as possible ( of course this means keeping my computer tidy as well - another challenge for me aarg!). Eliminating paper means less piles.

2. Use my business card binder. One of those cool looseleaf books with plastic sleeves. If I put all my cards in those sleeves they are not cluttering up my desk.

3. Plastic desk cover. Thanks to Susan, an officer organizer I have discovered that I can cover my desk with this heavy plastic and slide little bits of paper under it. I still have a clear surface and looks neat.

4. Make psychic space in my business to look at the bigger picture. This helps me to not be so bogged down with everyday jobs.

5. Sunday is clean office day ritual. This is the day I put things away that have been unorganized all week. I play my favorite music and just go for it!
